Activities

Participants are strongly encouraged to register for the Saturday evening banquet. Participation of vendors and door-prizes are planned.

This year's Saturday evening guest speaker is Dr. William S. Kurth, Research Scientist, Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Iowa. For more information about Dr. Kurth and his research, please visit his University of Iowa web page.

Free day-time activities during the Star Party (Friday through Sunday) include fishing, horseshoes, volleyball, playing in the river, bird-watching and hiking the beautiful 4200 acre river valley. On Saturday afternoon, a free tour of the Bio-diesel is scheduled. Participants may also want to visit the fabulous Coon Rapids Aquatic Center and/or the Coon Rapids Golf Course. Optional activities will also be offerred:

• canoe float on the Raccoon River (approx. 3 1/2 hours): $8/person
  
• raptor workshop (rehabiliation center with hawks, eagles, owls): $8/person
  
• Hay Rack Ride: $4/person
  
• commercial farm tour: $4/person
